2022 has arrived after a more difficult than expected omicron-impacted festive season. We hope that you did manage to spend some time with your loved ones and are feeling ready for the new year. Two years into the pandemic we thought it might be good to reflect on the shifts in our working lives and think about what the future holds. Whatever that is, you can be sure IT lies at the heart of it and we’re here to help.
Hybrid working
The debate around hybrid working has been shifting away from the pandemic-driven necessity, towards a more “human” perspective and how to frame the future work environment to ensure happy, healthy, productive and loyal staff. These articles from Wired and Business Reporter are just two that give a flavour of this debate. We find two things interesting; firstly, that IT has become an assumed enabler for this – far from the early scramble to just get things working – and secondly, the ongoing need to reshape office and WFH environments to make them fit for purpose. Cyber security
We may have just been through the festive season, but sadly the hackers never let up as this NCSC guidance on a missed parcel scam illustrates. If you haven’t already signed up to the NCSC’s Weekly Threat Report it might be a good New Year’s resolution to help keep on top of the news. As our regular readers will know, cyber security is something we take very seriously at Shoal and our previous newsletters have numerous tips on steps you can take to protect yourselves.
