Previously, we have provided numerous tips on getting your IT infrastructure fit for purpose, staying cyber secure and implementing policies to maintain business continuity. In this issue we take a look at accessing the right IT support for your individual needs.
Right-sized support
Whatever the size of your team, efficient and well-functioning IT infrastructure is integral to your business. Downtime from operational glitches, sub-optimal file collaboration, ineffective back-ups and cyber security issues can all hamper your productivity. Plenty of support solutions are available but whatever you choose needs to be cost effective and readily accessible. Questions you need to be asking yourself include:
- The current size of your team and your growth plans
- How you need to be working whether office based, remote or a hybrid mix
- What’s critical to YOUR IT landscape?
Don’t let your guard down
In April the NCSC released its Cyber security breaches survey 2023. It’s quite a lengthy piece but the summary at the beginning provides some useful insights and confirms that “Cyber security breaches and attacks remain a common threat”. Interestingly though, identification is down a little on the previous survey which the NCSC suggests may be due to current difficult economic conditions being a distraction for senior managers and/or boards. Good cyber hygiene can really help protect you against the hackers and needn’t be difficult to implement.
